Spinner_Bait_Ace_Day_Baby_Bass.jpg Fishing lite wire spinner baits

by B & M BAITS OWNER Wayne November 2010

It’s the age old question lite wire or heavy wire?

Fishing lite wire baits gives you the advantage of feeling your bait most of the time. You can feel the vibration of the blades and how the bait is moving. Then it happens a bass takes your bait ‘alright’ Great is it? You battle the bass to the boat, get your bait out and get ready to cast again. You look at your bait and say oh no the wire is bent. Do not panic take a minute slowly bend the wire back into shape or tune the bait, this is easily done most of the time. There is a reason the fish took your bait. Was it color, size, blade combination could be, but frequently it is the vibration and sound the bait is making. Try a lite wire bait against a heavier wire bait you might be pleasantly surprised. Yes the fish will demolish some baits beyond repair, but I would rather lose a few baits and get the bites as opposed to the other result.

Good luck and great fishing to you.
